Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect during my first visit to your chiropractic practice?

Your initial visit is all about you! Dr. Ritchie takes the time to listen to your health concerns and determine your health goals. He has 20 years of clinical experience and approaches each patient as a unique individual with distinctive needs.

Dr. Ritchie will walk you through a chiropractic exam to determine if a spinal problem is causing your problems. If necessary, he will take X-rays of your spine. He will then create a personalized care plan specific to you and your health needs and will discuss, in detail, what is wrong, how to fix it and how long it will take.

“It’s important to me that every single person in my practice has a clear understanding of why they’re here and what we are trying to achieve and the easiest, fastest way to make that happen,” said Dr. Ritchie.

Do I need a referral from my primary care physician to schedule an appointment?

No referral is needed to visit our chiropractic office. You can call the office, and we’d be happy to schedule your first visit. You may also book an appointment using our online scheduler.

How long are typical appointments, and how frequently will I need to come in for treatment?

A typical chiropractic visit is about 20 minutes in the office. We do our best to stay on schedule and ensure we have time devoted to you and your care. Care plans vary from person to person fully depending upon the severity and chronicity of the health problem you are concerned about. Dr. Ritchie will discuss the care plan frequency and duration in detail after he has the opportunity to speak with you.

The office is cleaned on a regular basis and we follow all guidelines for keeping the office sterile and clean for your visit. We ask patients who are sick or experiencing symptoms to stay home.

Are there any lifestyle or at-home exercises you recommend to complement treatment?

Dr. Ritchie approaches each patient’s care from a unique, individual perspective. It is very common for him to include at-home exercises and therapy, and he may also recommend therapeutic massage, laser therapy, or the use of physical therapy modalities in the office if necessary. Each care plan is tailored for the individual person and will be discussed in detail at your appointment.

How do I schedule follow-up appointments or contact someone if I have questions or concerns between visits?

Follow-up visits are easy to book either by calling the office or using our convenient online scheduler. We are always happy to answer your questions by calling the office or asking Dr. Ritchie during your visit.

Can chiropractic care help with my discomfort or pain?

Yes! Chiropractic care can effectively help you eliminate pain and achieve a higher state of health. Dr. Ritchie has helped thousands of people reduce or eliminate pain and restore health over his 20 years of clinical experience.

“There’s only one way to find out if chiropractic can help you—come on in, and let’s take a look. If I can’t help, I’ll be the first person to tell you. However, if there’s one thing I’ve come to realize over the years is that chiropractic works. It truly is the greatest, safest healthcare profession on the planet,” said Dr. Ritchie.

What types of techniques do you use during chiropractic adjustments, and are they safe?

We strive to provide only the best and safest chiropractic techniques. Dr. Ritchie is skilled in many techniques including Activator, Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson Drop and muscle therapy techniques such as Active Release Technique (ART) and Myofascial Release (MFR). He also specializes in an upper cervical chiropractic technique called Atlas Orthogonal.

How many sessions might I need before experiencing relief or improvement in my condition?

Some people experience immediate relief; however, it can take time. Just as if you might go to the physical therapy for a sprained ankle or a rotator cuff tear, chiropractic rehabilitates the spine, and healing isn’t immediate. Dr. Ritchie thoroughly analyzes your health concerns and will give you his best estimate of how long it will take to get relief and correct your condition.

Do you offer any additional therapies or services to complement chiropractic care?

Yes! We offer several wellness services in the office. Dr. Ritchie often includes soft tissue therapies during chiropractic visits using techniques like Active Release Technique (ART) and Myofascial Release (MFR). We also offer in-house therapeutic massage by our skilled, advanced massage therapists. We are proud to be a provider of MLS Laser Therapy, which helps people get out of pain quicker and reduce healing times.
